Michael and a whole lot of people helping out worked together through an AIM
chatroom for about 7 hours today and made a huge amount of progress in
squaring away the remaining conflicts and issues in the programming
schedule. We're getting really close, but we have not yet declared victory
or sent the programming mailing.
On Michael's behalf, I'd like to say that we're going to get together again
in the same virtual fashion at 7 pm tomorrow evening. We could use fresh
eyes and also the eyes that have been looking at things for so long
already.
Divheads in particular, if there is anything nagging in your mind that you
really want us to get right before the schedule gets out into the world,
check zambia if you can in the next 24 hours, and send mail to programming
right away. We're really trying to get this as close to right the first
time as we reasonably can.
Program staff in particular, just to keep some notes together, I made a
quick freebie wiki, and some of these notes may be of use to others as we
get the program mailing out.
the wiki is at
http://arisiaprogramming08.pbwiki.com/
and the password is zambia
The pages that I think are useful to others are:
http://arisiaprogramming08.pbwiki.com/ChangesAffectGoHs -- we need to
email a list of what we need to change to Krista and her team, and we're
collecting the notes there.
http://arisiaprogramming08.pbwiki.com/PeopleWithScheduleEits -- an
incomplete list of people whose schedules are far from what they should be.
I've been working on this list in particular.
http://arisiaprogramming08.pbwiki.com/ThingsToDoBeforeMailing -- punch list
for things we still need to look at before the schedule mailing goes out.
In general, programming notes belong in Zambia, and I am not trying to
create a shadow database of programming notes. However this is just a very
temporary way to share work in progress in a way that's a little more
freeform and subjective than a Zambia report. Zambia is canonical
information, this is a shared scribble pad.
That's all for now,
Rachel Silber
