While this is true, I think we also need to think about what that means; panels were never supposed to be big things that you commit to for several hours. If they're just getting up to speed after 50 minutes, we need to consider if the subject is maybe too big to be addressed in the bite size chunks that panels are supposed to be.

Also two-hour (or more) panels need to not be measured against one-hour panels, but instead against a number of one hour panels of the same total length. If a panel gets turn out of say, 25 people, we need to consider if it is worth the same as two one-hour panels that might each attract 20 people each.
