[PS] Newsletter Changes

This brings to mind an issue and I'm going to throw a yellow flag on
it. We've gotten used to not having a lot of schedule changes to
print at con. That's not normal, and this year is looking like we'll
be back to a normal amount of program changes, ie enough that printing
the entire con's worth of changes is probably at least a full side of
an 8.5x11 sheet, maybe more. The issue isn't program, it's the
interfaces between all the different pieces, so don't take this heads
up as a criticism of anyone in particular.

I think it's important that we know who is in charge of getting this
information out. If we need program change sheets separate from the
newsletter, who prints them? How much can newsletter get into their
space before a separate program change sheet is required? What kinds
of info merit publication at all (for instance, do you bother listing
all the panels for a scratched panelist, or just say they won't be
here and leave it at that)? To what extent are Monday program changes
repeated in different issues of the newsletter? Or does the
newsletter just run that day's worth of changes (up to maybe sometime
the next morning) and rely on a separate sheet if you want to know
further ahead of time?

Speaking as a past newsletter editor, I look at the primary purpose of
newsletter as a way to mix in enough fun stuff into the program
changes so that people will read them. If there aren't many changes
the newsletter can be mostly fun stuff. But I think that's not the
situation this year and I think making sure everyone's on the same
page about this one is better done now than at con.
