Umm... No.
Who is part of the core Zambia coding team is a decision that
Peter and I own. It stands independent of Arisia.
That said, we'd love volunteers... (Arisia related or otherwise)
Now, mind you, Zambia is published under a license that would
permit a splinter group to modify the code at no fee to do whatever
they like. They could even submit changes back to us for our
review and potential inclusion in future releases. License terms
and current code are available on request. But, lets not go there...
Now, when it comes to selecting someone who will work on
Arisia's installation of Zambia and handle all the little tweaks
you need for a given year, you have a lot of say. After all that
person is "making Zambia go for Arisia" and should be on staff
somewhere. 'course it would be best if this person (or persons)
could work well with the coding team.
To date Arisia has had the luxury and issue of relying on the
coding team for day to day operations of Zambia. This is one
thing that we will not do for another con and likely should no
longer do for Arisia. It is an easily separable piece of work.
Albeit a highly demanding one. This is on my list of things
to talk with you about should Arisia '09 use Zambia.
Thanks,
trg
(btw: not mad, just blunt)
