Hello Fine People,
The next Arisia '09 Con Comm meeting is a party at my place on Sunday,
July 20, at 2 pm. The Northern Lights Costumers' Guild is also
meeting that day at my house starting at 10 am with breakfast.
Arisians are welcome to come early, and RSVP to make sure there's
enough breakfast. People will be requested to leave by 9 pm.
As many of you know, I am Directing the Worldcon Masquerade in Denver
in early August. That has taken up many of my brain cells and
rendered me otherwise useless for complex things. I have a
premonition that I will recover from this brain drain by the end of
the summer, some time around August 15 or so, even.
So, I would like your help.
Food: We have a grill. Arisia '09 will fund the purchase of hot dogs
and hamburgers and some cheese. Perhaps even some chicken. We need
someone out there to take charge of purchasing, cooking, etc. There's
a local BJs and I have a membership. They also have the least
expensive gas around for anyone who needs a fill up. Make sure you
bring a BJs member with you to the gas station.
We have a popcorn machine ready and able to do its thing.
I think it's more fun, and less work, to have people bring things, so
a coordinator for a pot luck meal would be appreciated.
Games: Rick has volunteered to bring his Guitar Hero setup. There's a
new PS3 in my living room (not compatible with old PS2 games). It is
available for use.
It would be fun to have some outside yard games. If anyone has
croquet, badminton, bocce, and would be willing to bring it. Perhaps
frisbee?
Card games? We only have regular cards, but others are welcome as well.
Transportation: We live in Milford, just outside of 495. There is a
commuter train line that goes to 495/Forge Village from in town.
Rides will be available from the train station.
I'd like someone to coordinate car pools from in town. Most of those
living in the Cambridge/Somerville area don't own cars...
And, finally, remember to bring your family and friends. Let them see
what you do in your spare time, for fun. Maybe they'd like to help?
Maybe they'd just like to see the kind of people you hang out with in
January at a hotel when it's likely to snow.
Come one, come all. And, please to assist me.
Thanks,
Jill
