Well, that may have been one problem but the other one was Comcast.. and
it wasn't a simple lack of connectivity either, TCP connections were
dying after synchronization on connections to Google and Youtube.

Comcast claims the problem was Firefox, but I observed the problem with
other browsers and it only showed up on Comcast connections.
The problem seems to have cleared up at this time. If not, I found you
can work around it by removing your google cookies and disabling any
future cookies from Google (no access to personalized sites such as
GMail, but at least search works).
