...strange month it's been. ~\o

I've sent the following to the MASSFILC list.

Actually, it's been closer to a month and a half since that
damn barium swallow test and aspiration. But I have

Good News!

Due to the amazing support from various on-line communities
and the appearance of various members of these communities at
the hospice (and some encouragement from her sibs and me :),
Lois has decided that rumors of her imminent demise are quite
premature, thank you. (Phil's message to Jill Eastlake was true
when he called Jill, btw.)

As of this afternoon (Thursday), Lois was transferred back
to the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, where
she will receive non-invasive medical treatment for the suspected
burst ulcer and pneumonia. The ride in the ambulance was very
long in the snow storm, but she has safely arrived at the Emergency
Room of the BIDMC.

Hopefully, she will also receive enough physical therapy there
to be able to go home with either Visiting Nurse services or Hospice
services. I will still be her primary care giver, but we will have help.

Lois, her family members and I wish to extend our very most
sincere Thank Yous to all of you who helped Lois change her mind.
Please know that you done good!

[afk until I can see the keyboard again.]

I don't know yet when an in-patient bed will be available for Lois.
Because of the storm (and our van not having snow tires), Lois said
for me not to come in today. Her sister Sandra is there with her. I will
try to post more when I know it, but I'll likely stay overnight Friday to
Saturday with Lois (Saturday is her birthday), so I don't know when I'll
get another update out.

I'll also try to post updates to LJ (Arisia and Filk communities)
if I can access them. I don't have access to rmf, though.

 Most appreciatively,
 Paul M.
