[ST] [CP] The Debrief

Oh foo.

FIJAGDH. (If you don't know what this means, please Google it, or
contact me off list.)

Really. This isn't life and death.

I'm not sure what the Corporation has over-ruled the Chairman on in the
past.

On a couple of occasions over the last two years when something appeared
to affect the long term future of Arisia, I have stepped in as Corporate
President and put my thumb into what was going on.

But, this year's ConChair and next year's ConChair have stated how they
want to run the Debrief. They have also provided alternative means for
getting comments to them or assistant ConChairs. While I would perhaps
not run the Debrief in exactly the manner they have chosen, I have full
confidence that the manner they have chosen including alternative means
for getting comments to them will work as well as any other means.

My (strong) suggestion is that we go forward with it.

If you really don't like it, run for ConChair yourself or propose a
bylaws / policy amendment about how the Debrief should be run.

But, really, as I said FIJADGH. Let's not take this and ourselves so
seriously that we start acting like some other fan groups.

Arisia Corporate President

P.S. I won't be there. I've been triple booked for months including
plane tickets to be in Seattle. (I tried without success to get the
debrief moved, but when all was said an done agreed it was the best day
possible.) I'd much prefer mail to conchair at arisia.org or
staff at arisia.org to discuss issues / problems. That way everyone can
take part, rather than just the people who can be present at the
Debrief.
