[ST] [SA] Staff Den info and volunteering request

Hi, all!

The Staff Den current schedule draft is as follows: Thursday setup  
shift (4 pm onward), dinner (8 pm to 10:30 pm), Friday breakfast (7  
to 9:30 am), lunch (12 to 3 pm), dinner (7 to 9:30 pm), Saturday  
breakfast (7 to 9:30 am), lunch (12 to 3 pm), dinner (7 to 10 pm),  
Sunday breakfast (7 to 9:30 am), lunch (12 to 3 pm), dinner (7 to  
9:30 pm), and Monday morning from 7 to 9 am with whatever's left (all  
cold food).  We will also be frantically packing up that morning,  
since I believe we need to be out of the hotel for 10 am checkout.

I wrote up a whole schedule of which foods would be available for  
which meals, but a friend accidentally deleted the writeup.   
Reconstruction will hopefully be complete by Sunday, at which point  
I'll try to post it to the staff list (and have a sign made for it,  
if appropriate).

I have a PLEA of the Arisia staff.  Actually, I have a number of them  
(please don't make a mess, be cheerful, be good to one another,  
etc.), but my biggest plea is this:

I've gotten word from a number of friends that they won't be able to  
make the con, or they're volunteering in other departments, so I was  
wondering if anyone else out there wanted to join the Staff Den  
staff.  I could really use a few more hands, and I promise to treat  
you well.

My ideal is that no one is on for more than two shifts a day (and I  
suspect that most folks would rather only have one shift per day, if  
that).  For any meal's shift, I'd appreciate folks arriving at least  
half an hour beforehand to help with setup, and staying half an hour  
after for cleanup.  If this interferes with other things you'd like  
to see or do at the con, please talk with me about how to make the  
schedule work -- I know that it's difficult to make everyone happy,  
but I will try.  Hopefully without feeling chained to the Staff Den,  
myself.

Benefits of volunteering with the Staff Den (aside from the general  
benefits of volunteering at Arisia, like t-shirts and warm fuzzies  
and such) are many.  For those who show up Thursday night, I plan to  
serve the Indian-themed dinner then, in order to have less  
complicated logistics than doing it on a night with full staff  
attendance.  I'm bringing a bar of my homemade soap for everyone who  
works with me, and have made many new scents such as French Vanilla,  
Lemon Verbena, and Vanilla Clove.  Never mind that I'm also a massage  
therapist, so I can give a quick shoulder rub to anyone who needs  
it.  If you're interested, please talk with me asap!  :)

PS - For those of you new to the con (or to cons in general), the  
Staff Den is where we feed the staff.  Yay, food!
