Actually, I don't think that doing less at the convention
is an option, at least not without careful thought. Running
many parallel tracks keeps the attendees busy with something
fun for them in various rooms. Doing too little will overcrowd
what is being run, as well as increase the load on the consuite,
hallways, and elevators.

If dealer's and art-show were more central (as they are generally
done where there's nothing else of interest scheduled) that
would help, but as it is (or was), they draw more elevator load.

Doing fewer things but in higher capacity rooms could help, but
only if the space can be used that way. I don't know the new hotel
well enough to say if that can be done, but that's an important
balancing factor in a 'doing less' plan.

(Or we can cap attendees at, say, 1500. And mean it. I'd rather
not.)
