Hi Carsten,
People left in 2005 because they were afraid of being snowed in,
which is exactly what happened. Keeping the con running wasn't a fun
thing and we did a minimal job. There were no new Events or
Programming, for example.
A "serious campaign to score more volunteers" isn't going to replace
the seasoned staff we have now. Plus, you're likely to have to score
some more DivHeads and a few more conChair candidates, too, and those
aren't a dime a dozen. Arisia has had problems getting "new blood"
without the stress of having to replace the burnt-out blood.
