I'd just like to know a little more about something:
To preface my questions with my own slanted knowledge... I know that in the
"other" convention world the "special guests" are required to sign contracts
that say they won't appear at a similar convention or venue within a certain
time frame, and within a certain geographical frame within a year of the
convention they are first signed with. Thus the convention runners hope to
attract the wider audience for that particular special guest to their own
convention.
Why are we having the same special guest at a convention only 6 months later
that Readercon is having this weekend? We have a pretty similar
constituency that we advertise to and expect at our convention. Doesn't this make our
convention a bit less attractive? Did we sign up Ms. Gilman after Readercon
did? If so, why? If not, what's her reason for doing two conventions in the
same city with the similarity of membership being so high?

Can someone bring a stack of Arisia flyers to Readercon this coming
weekend? Laura Anne Gilman (our GoH), will be at Readercon.
Or even better, is anyone going to Readercon who can make sure that
a bunch of flyers appear at the various solo items that she's doing?
She has a Kaffeeklatsch at 1pm on Friday, a book reading at 10:30am
on Saturday, and an autograph session at 3pm on Saturday.
