In a couple of cases where we had users who didn't like TinyMCE
where I work we were able to fairly easily drop in FCKeditor (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FCKeditor ). Which I just checked and it
claims to work with Safari.
The freeware CMS we're currently using is Metadot (
http://www.metadot.com/ currently a perl based app being rewritten for
Rubyt on Rails).... Joomla ( http://wwww.joomla.org/ ) was looked at by
a couple of our sites. Although the big push is currently for a new app
called Alfresco (http://www.alfresco.com/)
Hope this might be some help....
