  I said that Arisia Policy says that the price of the ads must cover
the costs of printing the ads.

 That is not correct.  As I said above, the ads must pay for
themselves.  It's nice if the ads can also help defray the costs

  The "ad" we discussed was printed because the donor requested that
we acknowledge the donation in a visible location.  Without the
acknowledgment, we wouldn't have received the donation.

  Security uses a separate badge that they can take off when they're
not on duty.

  That was a joke.

  A committee was formed to figure out ways of providing additional
incentives to volunteers who work long hours.

  It was suggested that the at-door rate for Students be increased, a
specific amount wasn't specified.
