So sorry we were not able to make Sunday's meeting. I had mentioned
to Jill, and should have made more people aware of our Dad's recent
hospitalization. He was expected to go from the hospital to a rehab
instead he demanded an early return home. So we have been running
running about helping them more than any thing else.

We both expect the idea of early elevator management to have some
kinks that will need working out. However, we hope these proactive
schedules, and tracking of elevator usage through out the con will
reduce elevator break downs.

We even hope, remove elevators as a problem spot for the convention.

On the first floor will be the elevator dispatch center. It will as
most stations do, have a dispatcher, who will maintain order in the
lines, and a tv screen with 'elevator tv' Elevator tv will provide
directions to alternate routes (stairwells) plugs for the art show,
and dealers row, reminders of the train schedules, notes about the
convention, Arisia television and what ever else people suggest.

Our plan is to the two independent operation elevators into maned
'trains' for the extent of the convention. Each will be labeled via
colors (Blue/Green/Red/Orange) There will be schedules posted and the
person in the elevator will be wearing a color coded vest depending
the route of the elevator they are conducting. This will give people
standing on the upper floors a warning that an elevator might not stop
at their 'station'

Our staff requirements would include

2 Roadmasters - Jan Dumas and Joe Dumas - to make this thing work,

Dispatcher – stands on first floor to manage traffic, be first line of
assistance for conductors. (most likely one of us)

Conductors – run elevators. Wear colored vests or carry colored flags
to tell people at each station what route they are traveling. Be in
contact with the dispatcher at all times in case of problems with
passengers or the hotel.

Codes/Elevator colors

Blue line – travels from first floor to 4 14 and 16 only

Red line – travels from first floor to 2 – 3- 4 only

Green line – local all floors

Orange line – local all floors

Silver line – the escalator to the second floor and the
steps/crows nest to the third floor.

Depending on the hours of operations for Fast track and

father was driving our mother crazy. (now he is only putting her
crazy)
