[ST] Relocating the Elevator Discussion

Okay, folks, we'd like to move this discussion off the general staff  
list.  We're glad we have so many active participants in this  
discussion, and we're glad that we have a wealth of experience and  
investment in solving this potential difficulty for the convention.   
However, it would be most useful to the Member Services division  
(under which the Elevators department is listed) if you would please  
do the following:

Please send a concise email to elevators at arisia.org with your  
opinions and experiences which you would like to be taken into  
consideration by our elevator team.  Currently, Jan and Joe Dumas,  
Mary Dumas, and I are subscribed to the alias (and others will be  
added as the elevator team staff expands).  Discussion and reflection  
on this topic is obviously important to the staff and to the general  
attendees, and will be occurring on multiple levels of the convention  
staff as long as we're in the Hyatt, if not longer.  However, this  
discussion might be more satisfactory if it were more directly  
between concerned parties and the folks who will help draw up and  
implement policy.

Please consider Jan Dumas' note to the staff and staff-announce lists  
yesterday to be one draft of a potential solution to the elevator  
problem.  We all expect that the final plan will have changed and  
evolved significantly by the time the convention arrives in another  
10 months, given how much input we've already seen on this list.  But  
given how heated some of the thread has been, we believe that the  
discussion might be better suited to a less distributed forum, where  
those who aren't interested in the details can leave it to those who  
are.  :)
