Well, the main reason I favor db based triggers is because I like having such 
constraints naturally grouped with the other constraints.

Also, having them in the database means that one can develop other software 
aimed at this data without needing to care about whatever libraries or API we 
are using. The schema file serves as the central point of structure for the 
data, and we don't need to refer to another document to see how all 
constraints were implemented.
