Hotel Liaisons, At-Con
Hotel Liaisons solve problems that the convention has with the hotel during the convention. This can be as simple as “please get the trash emptied now” or “please unlock the door to ” … or as complicated as “the hotel valet staff are abusing a vendor’s car,” “we need to talk to the hotel about what their policy / law on service dogs is”, and beyond.
Liaisons are the ones who mediate issues between the convention and the hotel, seeking mutually agreeable solutions which balance the needs of both the convention and the hotel.
As a liaison, you speak for the convention when you are dealing with the hotel.
Works with: every department in the convention, and the hotel’s banquet and facilities staff.
Time Commitment during the weekend of Arisia is flexible.
Necessary skills: diplomacy, negotiation, grace under pressure, verbal communications skills.
